D.C. Leadership & Advocacy Program 2025, Newsletter

Building skills, sharing stories, and stepping into leadership

Our recent trip to Washington, D.C. was a steady and meaningful step for our network. It gave young people the chance to see the nation’s capital, learn together, and take part in conversations that matter.

The journey was not about big events or speeches. It was about learning how to share our experiences clearly, listening to each other, and seeing what it means to step into leadership in a real setting. Small moments, preparing for meetings, talking over meals, or reflecting at the end of the day, carried just as much weight as the formal sessions.

When we visited congressional offices, participants spoke about their lives and communities in ways that were simple and direct. These conversations showed that young people can bring real understanding to policy discussions when given the space to do so.

The trip was one part of a longer process. It reminded us that leadership is built step by step, through practice, reflection, and working together.

Looking ahead, the next stage begins soon. We go back on July 1, 2026, registration now open for our next Leadership & Advocacy Program. We invite young people who want to grow, learn, and take part in this journey to sign up through our website.
